2025 New Year Astrology Calendar + Greeting Card

Nothing could’ve prepared me for the stress and frustration I dealt with as I created this project. The task was simple: create a calendar that displays all 12 months within 1 page. We needed to include a theme, and we were restricted to a select fews fonts chosen by our entire class. However, the hardest part wasn’t the theme choice or the font choice for me. It was the fact that I chose to do an astrology theme and with that, include the months within a circular format like an astrological birth chart.

The day in which I would need to use mathematical knowledge from my junior year of high school finally came. Unfortunately, I didn’t remember any of that knowledge, and was instead forced to go through so much trial and error to properly execute my vision. I definitely pulled an all nighter trying to figure this out because I refused to sleep otherwise.

I finally did it though! And I was incredibly proud of myself for the end result! I wanted to create something fun and unique that combined an interest of mine, and I thought an astrological calendar would be perfect for this! The calendar displays all 12 months for 2025, with each month including the exact amount of days necessary, as well as their corresponding zodiac sign. It really is a functioning calendar with a whimsical turn on it!

This project genuinely taught me so much about problem solving and thinking outside the box. I wanted to give up numerous times and just do something simple that allowed for the months to be in blocks like a normal calendar but I absolutely refused because I really wanted to see this idea through. And I’m so glad I continued with my original idea! It has me wondering whether I should make more calendars for each year just for myself to use. I’m not huge on calendars, but I may just be if I took my time to create my own fun and whimsically themed calendar.

Alongside the calendar is a greeting card! If this calendar were a New Year’s gift, the intention would be to also give a Happy New Year's greeting card to the recipient of this gift. I thought it would be enjoyable to have a greeting card with different zodiac signs on it to correspond to the person that’s receiving the calendar. For this project, I did my own zodiac sign.

I think Tauruses are quite lovely.
