Green Spaces Booklet: Benicia
Some of my projects had adventures tied to them! This Green Spaces Booklet definitely had it’s own adventure tied to it.
This project was meant to be a travel guide for different parks in a specific city within the Bay Area. We were able to choose any city we wanted, and any parks within that city. We had the creative freedom to design it however we wanted, just as long as it followed project guidelines.
I lived in Hayward at this time, and it was difficult to go exploring with no car. My school is on a hill, and it’s quite difficult to leave and go anywhere even with the bus and BART. Thankfully, I was able to go to Benicia with my family at some point to take my photos and have a day with them! I’ve always thought Benicia was a beautiful city, and I have fond memories there. I wanted to take the opportunity to explore more of it, and see what else the city had to offer.
I truly believe that choosing Benicia for this project made this process 10x better and even more fun than it would’ve been had I just stayed in Hayward because it was easier. Sometimes an adventure is necessary for a project, and I’m more than happy to take the extra effort and time if it means creating something I love and creating wonderful memories from it.
For that reason, this is a project I definitely look back on quite fondly.
